Star Trail Photography Workshop
My star trail photography workshop operates in south and mid Wales for individuals and small groups. The workshop will operate in the early evening and late night.
Before sun sets we learn the essentials of astrophotography in a nearby cafe – such as camera settings, focus techniques, composition tips. As the sun is setting we will reach our destination to compose our photograph – sunset is itself a good photo opportunity, so we will get some of these too. Once fully dark we will take a number of test shots to master the methods we have learned. Finally, we will leave our cameras on the tripod for 45-60 minutes to capture a succession of photographs that show the movement of the stars. Using the techniques learned earlier that afternoon, you will be able to compose these into a single beautiful star trail image.
This workshop can run anywhere in south of mid Wales with a dark sky. Some recommended locations
- Elan Valley
- Pembrokeshire coast
- Gower coast
- Brecon Beacons national park
A non-refundable reservation deposit of £30 is required to book a place.
Please register your interest using the adjacent form and let me know which dates are possible for you. I typically require at least 4 week’s notice ahead of an astrophotography workshop booking.
A successful astrophotography workshop depends entirely on the weather. If the forecast for our location is poor on the day of the workshop, we can reschedule it for another mutually convenient date.
